No question, ActiveSync and/or Windows Mobile Device Center is and was a love/hate relationship
for most Windows Mobile users and if you still have problems with either the one or the other,
Laplink's latest PDAsync version might be an interesting alternative.
Just released by the grandfather of all sync-software, Laplink PDAsync 4 provides you with
simple, high-speed, one-click synchronization between your mobile devices and popular applications
on your computer for all your corporate and individual needs. This fast, flexible and easy-to-use
software supports all major devices, including Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6 PDAs and smartphones and
applications, including Outlook, Lotus Notes, ACT! and Novell GroupWise.
PDAsync is compatible with Palm OS, Pocket PC, Windows Mobile powered Smartphones and a number
of leading PDA makers including Sony Ericsson, T-Mobile and Samsung. After the initial
synchronization, PDAsync saves you time by only syncing the changes you have made instead of
syncing all the data again.
Multiple devices can be associated with multiple applications via profiles. Not only does
PDAsync sync your E-Mail, but it keeps track of the read/unread status of all your messages, so you
don't have to.
Now the bad news. Unlike ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (which you still need
anyway as underlying connection method), Laplink PDAsync 4 costs US$ 49.95 but this might be a
worth investment if you use other applications than Outlook or ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device
Center has driven you crazy already. In any case, a free trial version is available too.
