Recycle or donate your old PC
Recycle or donate your old PC
Did you know that
throwing your old PC in the garbage might be illegal? Did you know you can help others by donating
your PC? And you might even get a tax benefit.
Laplink wants to help you recycle or donate your old PC. Read a letter from Laplink's CEO here that explains this in more detail.
Laplink has partnered with a non-profit organization dedicated to refurbishing and delivering PCs to those in need, including people in emerging countries such as Uganda. Your old PC can be the perfect educational tool for the less fortunate. If your PC does not meet the requirements it will be properly discarded and recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner. Once you have migrated all of your old settings, files and programs to your new PC with Laplink PCmover, follow these easy steps to donate your old PC:
- Follow our link to the InterConnection Seattle website to sign up for your free donation kit.
- Erase sensitive personal information from your old PC using a program like SafeErase.
- When the donation kit arrives, follow the instructions for packing and shipping your PC. A shipping label will be included; and, if you are donating a working 1.5 GHz or better PC, the shipping label will be for UPS prepaid. All computers must have their hard drives and be functioning. Please do not donate junk.
You will be making a difference today in the lives of others around the world!
Thank you for joining Laplink in this worthy endeavor.
